Information Assurance (IA) is comprised of measures that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. These measures include providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.

IA is the keystone for any corporate or government data plan. Without secure data, a company's mission- even its very existence- is compromised. Today's networks carry an increasing array of sensitive data. However before you can secure a network, you have to know how it's threatened.
